Last weekend we and the rest of the family (Grandma, Grandpa and my sister's family) all took a trip down to Trout Lodge. We all really had a wonderful time doing many of the activities that they offered. Activities we enjoyed were: apple cider campfire, rodeo activities, horseback riding, face painting, canoeing, kayaking, walking, tennis, archery, putt-putt, Moonlight Zip and of course EATING!
The moonlight zip could only be enjoyed by people over 13, so the kids had to sit this activity out much to their dismay. It was SO MUCH FUN. After dark, you take a trail into the woods with flashlights. You get to the top of the hill and they hook you up to a zip line. (or zap line because you don't have to climb to a tower, but instead run to take off) You start running into the dark woods and all of a sudden the ground is no longer there. You are flying along the trees over a valley. The moon was bright and you could see the woods below. Then you start to head back. They let you do this three times each. It really was a great time and I would jump at the chance to do it again. They have other rope courses and other activities that we didn't have time to enjoy. Maybe next time :)
This is a shot over the rest of the balconies. Grandma and Grandpa were next store and my sister's family was two more down.
This is a shot of the lodge from the beach area. From the beach you are able to swim in the summer, although people were swimming while we were there. You can also canoe, kayak, go down slides, boat, rent bicycles. There is just so much to do.
Grandma and Gabriella decided to take a walk.
Gabriella got to try her hand riding a "horse"
Kennison was out kayaking.
Gabriella sat on the beach watching the kids have fun out in the water.
Aren't you all jealous of my hot husband :) He and Canon got to take a bike ride along a trail.
Just a fun picture of the kids.
Kennsion and Marty holding up the fish that Kennison caught.
Gabriella yelling at me to finish taking pictures so she could go have some fun.
Grandma and Gabriella enjoyed taking walks while the cousins were fishing and canoeing.
I think the whole weekend wore her out, but seriously...how can she sleep like that?
On our last day at Trout Lodge we took pontoon boat ride around the lake. All the kids were required to wear life jackets, but I don't think Gabriella enjoyed hers very much.
Needless to say we all had a lot of fun and I think we are still recovering from our active weekend.
