Finally a nice day!

A couple weeks ago, we decided to put a pool in the basement. Well, actually, our sump pump decided to quit working and start the pool for us. Brian just happened to go downstairs looking for a book and discovered that most of our basement was covered in water. Luckily, I was on a "get rid of the cardboard box" kick awhile back and most of our stuff was in tubs. We didn't lose too much, but it was still a mess. We had a plumber (who luckily is a friend of the family) come over right away and replace the pump and we quickly could see the water recede. The next day we discovered our furnace was going out. So, I guess we know what our tax money is going to this year. Sigh.

Anyway, it looks like maybe we can put the building of the ark on hold for a little while. We finally got a nice day and decided to let Gabriella experience the outside without a coat and tons of blankets on for once :) Rookie of course wanted to get in on the action when she saw the camera come out. She looks a little uncomfortable, but Gabriella adores her.

This has to be one of my favorite pictures. Rookie was going in to lick Gabriella's ear and Gabriella was just giggling and loving every minute of it. It was just nice to finally get some fresh air and enjoy the outside!
I'm starting to get a little jealous that I'm always the one behind the camera though. Gabriella may never know what her mom looks like :)
